Now I can’t log into Jalopnik or any of the other big sites. But I can still log into Oppo. So, really, nothing of value was lost. But still, it’s odd. When I click to log in, I get the log in screen, I select Google, and it just takes me back to the log in screen.
The new Safari also broke my ad blocker. Thanks, Apple.

It’s weird that Jalopnik is broken but oPPo is okay. It’s the same api and linkage.

Do you use Ghostery or other ad/tracker blockers? I have that problem sometimes and it’s due to Ghostery.
Also, most likely
Safari didn’t break your ad blocker, the devs need to update it for the new Safari.

I was using uBlock. When Safari launched, I got a message that said Safari was no longer supported and it was removed. I tried to reinstall it, but it was different, and I haven’t sussed it out yet.
So, no, I’m not running an ad blocker any m ore.

I know. Can’t log into Deadspin, etc. either. But even after I restarted, I could log into Oppo as usual.

Are you logged into Google?
I get it when I don't log into the Facebook account I associate with Kinja, so I log out of my other FB account, try Jalopnik, use that FB account to log in, then change my FB account back to the one I use most often.

Ah, then I’d say the problem is uBlock - it sounds like it’s doing something in the background. I also run uBlock (Origin)* and, come to think of it, that may have been the issue for me as well. Trying to reinstall it may have resulted in some features kinda working that are causing it - even if it says it is unsupported. A while ago I disabled, to a point, uBlock and Ghostery on most main Kinja sites I regularly visit but do occasionally click on something that takes me to an obscure page and I can’t log in. So pausing them temporarily does the trick and when I refresh the page, I’m logged in.
Also, it’s believed that the message you got about Safari not being supported is just a way for Apple to ‘encourage’ you to use a native ad-blocker.
*Origin is not available for Safari 12
- it’s a whole thing between original developer vs. the one who took over. It’s dumb.

Google. I do not Facebook.

There is an option in Safari to prevent cross site tracking. That is causing your issue. Turn i t off and all will work again.

Ye', what I'm saying is sometimes it won't log you into Kinja if your not logged into the account you use to log into Kinja.

Interesting. Because I don’t make a point of logging into Google.

Sounds like a feature to me, not a bug.
